A week in Delhi

Last weekend was a long one again, it was bank holiday on the Monday and we were suppose to go to Shimla! That is a hill station and it was gonna be very pretty! And a bit cooler than in the city! But they canceled the flight up there so no other way of going. :(

So we spent the weekend walking around Delhi and did some sightseeing here.
All this week Stephen has been in Norway so I have been here all by my self, he is not back until Wednesday when we are going to Hong Kong!

I've been busy enough, working, going to the gym and meet up with friends.
The gym is going ok, I was home this morning when my maid came (normally I'm at work , but was going to an exhibition so left late)
and she said that before the gym I was " much too fat " ( I nearly choked on my breakfast)
But now I'm " much too thin " hrm don't  think so because I can still not get into my skinny jeans! But thank you!
She kept going on and on how I was sooo fat before but now I was much too thin! hahaha she is sweet!

So here is some pictures from last weekend, tomorrow I'm meeting Julia2 for some serious shopping then bootcamp with my trainer in the evening!!

Just an other day in India:)

Lucknow, what a different a day makes.

We just got back from Lucknow, we left on Friday and spent Saturday- Monday in a small city.
It didn't start very good as our room smelled badly of damp, and the bed was feeling wet. So we went down and asked for another room. We got another room on the other side of the hotel, didn't smell that bad, but it had a view of a building site, not the beautiful pool and garden!
So we slept in that room and in the morning we again asked to have a new room, one that didn't smell and had a good view, we did manage to get one, but there was still was something weird because all out clothes and the floor got damp! But at least it didn't smell! The rest of the hotel was beautiful!
On Saturday it was a beautiful sunny day, so we stayed around the pool.  No one here uses the pools so we had it all to ourselves! Lovely, but we did manage to burn quite badly!!
In the evening we went down to one of the restaurants in the hotel and the chef made us something that wasn't in the menu. We got treated like celebrities all weekend!
On the Sunday we had booked a guide to take us around town and show us all the attractions, everything that was important to see. It rained a little to start with so we put on jackets and asked for umbrellas, at the end of our tour we were soaked! I have never seen rain like that before! At one point it was up past our ankles when we walked around! The day after it said in the newspapers that it hasn't rained that much in 10 years! It rained about 100mm in 3 hours- that's when we were out!
In the evening we went to the same restaurant, we had a bottle of wine and has a nice meal.
On Monday it rained on and off all day, so we managed a walk in the gardens but that was it. Flew home to Delhi in the afternoon and was hoping that our apartment wasn't flooded! It wasn't!

We were suppose to go to Shimla next weekend but our flight has been cancelled! So we are sightseeing in Delhi!

Monsoon season is here

Me and Stephen have never believed there were such a thing as a monsoon season because it didn't happen when it was suppose to happen ( May-July )
This morning we woke up with a swimming pool in our apartment!! The whole apartment was flooded and stood in 3 cm deep water everywhere!
Everything that was on the floor was ruined! Our lovely Indian rug that we bought in Agra for Stephens birthday that we haven't even walked on because we didn't want to make it dirty probably wont make it!

So annoying!

Here is a picture from this morning in the car...

Going to Lucknow tonight, we have a long weekend here in India, will be nice with a break!

Boring news

We haven't been very good at writing lately because we have nothing to say!
We have not done or been anywhere exciting enough to write about.
Next week we are going to Lucknow for a long weekend because it is a bank holiday here next Monday, so leaving Friday night, then staying until Monday.  So should be some more pictures then.

Then the weekend after that we are going to Shimla, it is up in the mountains,so hopefully should get great pictures from there!
Then two weekends after that we are going to Hong Kong for my birthday, woho!

So we are very sorry that we haven't been very good but our life here got normal.
We go to work in the morning, go to the gym in the evening, eat food then go to bed! Boring! I know but that is our routine here now, and we are very happy.
