Happy Diwali!

Me and Stephen were invited to a Diwali party yesterday ( Sunday )
Diwali is the Christmas for Indians, so you go to someones house and there are presents, lots of lovely food, party lights everywhere, fireworks, music and then there is gambling.
That was the biggest hit of the night, everyone was gambling! This was obviously new to us as we don't do that over Christmas ( maybe every other day of the year but not Christmas )
So we went out shopping in the week for an Indian outfit for both me and Stephen, he has one at home ( U.K ) but didn't take it to India. So we spent a couple of hours going around the shopping centers trying on different Sarees and everything that goes with it.
I think we looked rather lovely!

Thank you Anita for having us over!

Fabrics

We have been buying fabrics recently, which is very cool!
We went into the fabric shop and our driver was laughing at Stephen as he knew we would spend a while in there.
It is an amazing shop, 3 storeys high and fabrics on all the walls in roll after roll. I think Stephen calculated it to be over a thousand fabrics on one wall ( he was bored after half an hour!)
So we went up and down a few times to find the right blue fabric that I bought last time, but I needed more of. This time they where out of that one so I needed to find a new blue! It is not as easy as you might think. These blue fabrics I was gonna make my brides maids dresses with for next summers big wedding:)
So after all that I did find new blue fabrics then after that I wanted to find a fabric to make a bed spread with. Stephen was the designer of that one and picked the fabrics. Then we found some lovely new fabrics for dresses. So we chose two completely different fabrics, one bright yellow/orange with peacock feathers printed on it. And the second one was a basic black silk with pink butterflies on. So in the next couple weekend I will be  sewing two new dresses ( at least ) woho!

Stephens parents are here now, (well not as we speak as they are on a tour for the next 12 days ) but I picked them up at the airport on Tuesday, fighting with Indians who was getting the best place to wave at the people they knew, I backed off pretty quick! Don't fight with Indians waiting for people they love, it is a loosing battle!
So found them and then we went home, I showed them around our apartment, and we had a lovely chat and lunch, waiting for Stephen to come home.
So the days they were here we went out for lovely dinners and visited our local jewellers.
But now they are away on a tour and are not coming back until the 25th, then we are all heading down to Kerala for some sun and beach time :)

Weather has finally cooled down enough so yesterday me and Stephen spent the whole day laying at the pool in Shangri- La, lovely!

Dubai week!

We have been really bad at updating but nothing has happened until last week when we went to Dubai.
Dubai is amazing! The shopping malls are huuuge! One has a ski slope, one has a ice rink and a huge fish tank where you can learn how to dive and they are all filled with hundreds of shops! It was lots of fun and I spent most days laying around the pool, Stevie would come later and we would play pingpong and then going for a swim.
On the weekend we meet up with our friends Lyndsey and Louise and they had two friends with them so we all went out for nice meals and drinks! And we saw a lovely fountain show next to the worlds tallest building!
We stayed there from Saturday to Saturday and it was a nice break.
The huge fish tank in one of the malls, they had stingrays, sharks and little fishes
